The GlamHub app development project began in September 2024 and spans an entire year. This project focuses on building a seamless, user-friendly platform that connects clients with certified beauty and wellness professionals. The goal is to provide a mobile solution that enables clients to book services from independent vendors, whether at home, in business settings, or for on-the-go appointments.
The primary goal of this project is to create a fully functional app that serves as a bridge between beauty and wellness vendors and clients. GlamHub will allow users to search for, book, and pay for services with ease, while also enabling vendors to manage their appointments, profiles, and payments. This app aims to simplify the process of booking beauty services while empowering independent vendors to grow their businesses.
1. App Design and User Experience (UX/UI):
At the start of the project, the focus was on wireframing and prototyping to establish a seamless user experience. My role included designing intuitive navigation, simple booking processes, and aesthetic UI elements that align with GlamHub's youthful, creative brand. This involved designing multiple screens for both the client and vendor sides of the app, ensuring smooth transitions and easy usability.
The next step was developing the core functionality of the app. This included integrating search features for clients to filter beauty services by location, type, price, and vendor ratings. The app also needed to incorporate secure payment gateways, a rating and review system, appointment scheduling, and push notifications for updates. I collaborated closely with developers to ensure the app functions efficiently and can handle real-time bookings and payments.
To support the growth of the app, a focus was placed on streamlining the onboarding process for both beauty professionals and customers. For vendors, I worked on creating an easy registration and profile management system, with features allowing them to upload images, set pricing, and specify services offered. Clients needed a simple, secure registration process, which we streamlined with social logins and email sign-ups.
As development continued, I led a series of testing phases, collecting feedback from both early vendors and clients. This helped us fine-tune the app and ensure that the features aligned with their needs and expectations. We tested everything from the booking flow to the payment process, fixing bugs and improving the UI/UX based on user feedback.
Throughout the development process, I ensured that the app was integrated with GlamHub’s marketing efforts. This included linking the app with email marketing tools to send push notifications, promotions, and reminders. The goal was to create an app that not only served its functional purpose but also drove engagement and loyalty among users.
By the end of the year-long development period, the app was intended to be fully operational and ready for launch. Short-term goals included ensuring the app’s usability, launching a beta version, and gathering data on user behavior. Long-term outcomes included scaling the platform with features like a vendor referral program, in-app promotions, and additional customer service tools.
This project will help GlamHub establish itself as a key player in the beauty app space, providing a valuable service to both beauty professionals and their clients while fostering business growth and customer satisfaction.
